The “Odds”

By on January 30, 2015

“Odds.” That’s an operative word in our vocabulary but not in Gods. “What are the odds?” God is a 100% God. Our choices neither increase or diminish His abilities, nor His determination to glorify Himself.

The odds are 100% that:

*without God there is no life, physically or spiritually.

*in Christ, God alone overcomes the assault of this sinful world.

*whatever God does will be right, for our good and His glory.

*our assignment is to know God, cooperate with Him, and glorify Him.

*God’s plans, however enacted, will be consistent with the Scripture.

*we are to live in the Word, aggressively cooperating with His revealed will.

*God can employ human means…though He doesn’t have to.

*God is both with and for the believer whose heart is surrendered to Him.

*unless Jesus returns, we will each experience physical death.

*for believers in Christ, death is merely the doorway to eternity with God.

*today, God is providing all we need in order to please and glorify Him.

*our greatest sense of fulfillment comes through intimacy with God.

I like these odds.

Rejoice evermore!
